Gathering at Balay Lingin Inspires Bohol FORSOAR in Deepening Faith and Community Bonds

Guindulman, December 28, 2023— In a serene atmosphere surrounded by lush nature, the Bohol FORSOAR (Former Seminarians of the Order of Augustinian Recollects gathered at Balay Lingin, Canhaway, Guindulman, Bohol for a spiritually enriching event aimed at nurturing the Augustinian Recollect spirit.

The day commenced with a heartwarming Lunch and Fellowship at 12:00 PM, where shared meals not only filled stomachs but also fostered camaraderie, strengthening the bonds that define this spiritual community.

The afternoon unfolded with insightful sessions, the first of which delved into the theme of Authentic Accompaniment led by the esteemed Fr. Randy Castillo, OAR. Entitled “What Authentic Accompaniment Looks Like,” this session served as a profound guide to walking alongside others in Catholic Evangelization. Participants engaged in a reflective period with guide questions at 2:30 PM, allowing for a deeper internalization of the teachings.

Following this, at 3:00 PM, Fr. Leander Barrot, OAR, led Session 2 — “Understanding Our Role in Spreading the Gospel”. Participants explored practical ways to actively contribute to spreading the Gospel in their daily lives. The subsequent sharing session at 4:00 PM allowed individuals to exchange insights and experiences, fostering a sense of collective wisdom.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the community came together at 4:30 PM for a Holy Mass. The celebration of the Eucharist served as a poignant reaffirmation of commitment to God and one another. Following the Mass, the gathering concluded with Closing Remarks and Commitment Renewal, featuring words of encouragement from the spiritual leaders, motivating everyone to authentically live out their roles in service to God and others.

Fr. Amadeo Lucero, OAR, Fr. Glynn Ortega, OAR, Fr. Jerome Virtudazo, OAR, Fr. Romeo Bersaluna and Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR were also present, adding their spiritual wisdom and guidance to the day. Fr. Glynn and Fr. Amadeo shared inspiring insights, enriching the group’s experience. Fr. Jerome expressed heartfelt gratitude for the undying support extended to the construction of his convent at San Nicolos de Tolentino Mission Station, Los Arcos, Prosperidad.

The day closed with a Meeting at 6:00 PM, providing an opportunity for participants to discuss their learnings and experiences. A delightful Dinner at 6:30 PM marked the end of the day, leaving hearts full, spirits lifted, and a shared commitment to continue fostering the Augustinian Recollect spirit.

This gathering at Balay Lingin not only served as a day of spiritual deepening but also strengthened the sense of community among the Augustinian Recollects, encouraging them to live out their shared mission in the service of God and humanity.
